Yay! It's finally here!!
So, I am thinking to try our psychic Thanksgiving celebration on Tuesday, November 26th, around midnight (so, technically within the first wee early morning hour of the 27th). However, if neighbors are being too disruptive then, we can try again Wednesday night, if you're game - the night before Thanksgiving (hopefully, we won't have to reschedule twice. The Down Syndrome neighbor above me tends to wake up in the middle of night and starts pounding around on the ceiling, as does the stereo guy - but at least the Ghetto Lady and her family are often asleep by then).
If I'm lucky, I can have the food cooked and prepped BY somewhere around 12:00 midnight or 12:30 am (again, technically on the 27th).
Excitedly, here's the food breakdown as it stands. I think this will more or less be what's on the menu because many of these items I already purchased. See below.
*Vegetarian=lacto-ovo vegetarian
TRADER JOE'S
Note: I already purchased many of these because they are frozen. You might want to get to Trader Joe's to pick this stuff up sooner rather than later because Trader Joe's DOES sell out of its seasonal items and when they do, they don't reorder more.
:(
•Breaded turkey-less stuffed roast with gravy VEGAN
•Cranberry orange relish VEGAN
•Organic savory vegan gravy (2 containers) VEGAN
•Riced cauliflower stuffing VEGAN
•Miyokos butter VEGAN
•Mashed sweet potatoes with pecans VEGETARIAN
•Corned pudding VEGETARIAN
NON-ALCOHOLIC LIBATION
•Spiced apple cider VEGETARIAN
ALCOHOLIC LIBATIONS
•Old fashioned egg nog liqueur VEGETARIAN
•Howling Gourds Pumpkin Ale VEGETARIAN??
WHOLE FOODS
Note: I have not gone to Whole Foods or Ralph's yet because the items I get here will be fresh, not frozen, so I'll need to wait until closer to the date before picking them up. Hopefully, they won't be sold out.
•Half a fruit pie of some kind VEGAN
•Cranberry white chocolate loaf of bread VEGETARIAN
•Refridgerated mashed potatoes VEGAN
RALPH'S
Note: If Whole Foods has sold out of their mashed potatoes, I might grab the kind Ralph's has which are vegetarian, not vegan.
•Refridgerated mashed potatoes VEGETARIAN
For Whole Foods and Ralphs, I'll post a confirmation post on this blog letting you guys know if I did get the additional items listed above. If you want to wait until I do so to see if you can get the exact same kind of vegan pie, etc., you're welcome to do so, but if you don't want to wait, I'll understand.
Eddie, you're welcome to cut and paste this post verbatim and send it to Paul. I'll be posting this data on Facebook for Shelby soon.
Also, if it's OK, I might need help telepathically verbally confirming for Shelby that he IS understanding these basic points correctly (I think he still needs help sometimes feeling confident he's apprending the basic game plan of a given situation, though he's a quick study). We also may need to confirm his basic understanding on the rescheduling issue. I'm going to basically post this post verbatim on Facebook, but I'm hoping we can confirm for him that we may need to reschedule if the neighbors act up.
Other than that, let's vegan Tofurky-day rock n' roll!! ☆☆☆♡♡♡
P.S. Be sure to check back for the Whole Foods/ Ralph's confirmation, etc.
